A collection of tragic stories, through which "Al-Manfaluti" stirred feelings of sorrow and sadness; you hardly move from one story until the next is more sorrowful and more miserable. The entire collection is a tragedy, most of which share the anguish of lovers, the misery of the poor, the sorrow of the oppressed, and the torment of the bereaved; these are indeed tears you shed while reading each story. In "The Orphan", you see that life was too harsh on the lovers to unite them; death was more merciful to them. In "The Veil", "Al-Manfaluti" calls for not being drawn towards Western traditions. And to the story of "Granada", where Muslims try to preserve their religion after losing their land. "Al-Manfaluti" clarifies the effect of addiction on the individual, and how it leads to downfall in "The Abyss". "Al-Manfaluti" reaches the peak of tragedy, and makes us shed tears with our hearts when we read "The Victim", "Marguerite's Memoirs", and "The Rest of the Memoirs"; you feel as if the misery of the world has been placed in that poor "Marguerite".
